The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) XII conducted an orientation to its employees on the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) on 16 January 2021 at PSA RSSO XII Conference Room, Cotabato City. The said activity was aimed to inform all employees and instill awareness on the PhilSys implementation in the region. The Step 1 Registration started on 18 January 2021.
Topics discussed include PhilSys Law and its IRR, Guiding Principles, PhilSys End-to-End Buisness Process were discussed by CRASD Chief Sittimazuin M. Hofileña; PhilSys Data Privacy Management, common errors and lesson learned from 2020 Step 1 Registration were given by PhilSys Information Systems Analyst I Ellison Parojinog; Guidelines on PhilSys Forms and Supporting Documents, Step 1 Registration Overview and Procedure were presented by Senior Statistical Specialist Edward Donald F. Eloja; Guidelines on the Introducer-Based System and PhilSys Credentials, Use Cases, Deactivation and Reactivation were tackled by Information Officer I Fatima H.S. Mohammadsha; Statistical Specialist II Em L. Gayosa talked about Guidelines on Step 1 Registration Process, Monitoring and Evaluation; and Administrative Officer IV Shyla Marie M. Deticio stressed the Step 1 Registration Supervision and Monitoring.
The PhilSys project emphasizes inclusive coverage, enabling access to the most vulnerable groups such as the poor, people living in geographically-isolated and disadvantaged areas, indigenous peoples, and persons with disabilities. Built on a Privacy-by-Design principle, the PhilSys will adopt the latest technologies and innovations in the implementation of the project underscoring the importance of privacy of individuals and security of information under the system.
