Cotabato Province Grows by 5.2 Percent in 2021, Ranks Second in share to Regional Economy

The economy of the Province of Cotabato grew by 5.2 percent in 2021, a rebound from a -3.3 percent decline in the previous year, the Gross Provincial Domestic Product (GPDP) of Cotabato is valued at PhP 119.4 billion, higher than the 2020 level of PhP 113.6 billion and even surpassing the 2019 pre-pandemic GPDP level of PhP 117.4 billion.

Cotabato Province Headline Inflation eased at 7.4% in December 2022

Headline inflation rate or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket in Cotabato Province eased to 7.4 percent in December 2022 from 7.6 percent in November 2022. This is higher than the regional but lower than the national level at 7.1 percent and 8.1 percent respectively. A downtrend inflation rate was observed for this month. Inflation in December 2021 was lower at 4.4 percent. The average inflation for All items for the 12 months of the year stood at 5.8 percent.

Cotabato Province Headline Inflation increased to 7.6% in November 2022

Headline inflation rate or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket in Cotabato Province increased to 7.6 percent in November 2022 from 7.5 percent in October 2022. This is higher than the regional but lower than the national level at 7.0 percent and 8.0 percent respectively. An uptrend inflation rate was observed for this month. Inflation in November 2021 was lower at 4.2 percent. The average inflation for All items for the 11 months of the year stood at 5.7 percent.

PSA Cotabato and Local Government Units of Aleosan and Arakan Conduct Municipal Level Training on the 2022 Community Base Monitoring System Enumeration.

The Local Government Unit of Aleosan and Arakan, Cotabato in partnership with the Philippine Statistics Authority Cotabato Provincial Statistical Office conducted an eight-day Training on the 2022 Community Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data collection for households on 2-9 November 2022 at Municipal Roofdeck, Aleosan Cotabato and 21-28 November 2022 at 3A’s Brother’s Café, Arakan, Cotabato.

Headline inflation rate or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket in Cotabato Province decreased to 7.5 percent in October 2022 from 7.8 percent in September 2022. This is higher than the regional but lower than the national level at 6.5 percent and 7.7 percent respectively.

Philippine Identification System Conducts Provincial Level Training on the Issuance of the Printable PHILID(ePhilID)

On September 28-29, 2022, the Philippine Statistics Authority Cotabato Provincial Office conducted the training for the issuance of the printable PhilID or ePhilID to serve as an interim ID for those who do not yet have their PhilID cards. It was held at Elai Resort, Hotel and Recreation Center, Brgy. Paco, Kidapawan City, Cotabato. It was attended by 85 participants, 4 office-based PhilSys personnel, and Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Belinda R. Penuela.
