2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF) Enumeration

The 2022 CAF is the seventh in a series of decennial agricultural census and the sixth in the decennial census of fisheries in the country since 1903. It a large-scale government undertaking geared towards the collection and compilation of basic information on the agricultural and fishery sectors in the country.

In connection with the implementation of the 2022 CAF, the Philippine Statistics Authority – Sarangani is now conducting interviews in the sample barangays of General Santos City and Sarangani Province. A total of 214 hired personnel were deployed in General Santos City, which is composed of 164 Statistical Researchers including reserves, 30 Team Supervisors, 10 Census Area Supervisors and 10 Assistant Area Supervisors. Meanwhile, 186 personnel were deployed in Sarangani Province. Out of 186 hired personnel, 142 were Statistical Researchers, 26 Team Supervisors, 9 Census Area Supervisors and 9 Assistant Census Area Supervisors. The 2022 CAF enumeration for General Santos City and Sarangani Province started last September 4, 2023 and will end on October 25, 2023.

For General Santos City, only 13 sample barangays were included in the conduct of 2022 CAF, these were: Barangay Katangawan, Lagao, Labangal, Mabuhay, San Isidro, Tambler, Apopong, Siguel, Calumpang, Dadiangas North, Dadiangas South, Dadiangas West and Fatima. Moreover, for Sarangani Province, only 6 sample barangays were included in Alabel, 9 barangays in Glan, 4 barangays in Kiamba, 7 barangays in Maasim, 4 barangays in Maitum, 5 barangays in Malapatan and 9 barangays in Malungon.

The collected data in this census will serve as important bases of policies, plans, and programs of the government for the country’s socio-economic development.
