As of May 1, 2020, the Province of Sarangani, with 7 municipalities, had a total population of 558,946 persons based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH). Population is higher by 14,685 persons compared with the 2015 Census of Population (POPCEN 2015) count of 544,261 persons.
Ninety-nine percent (558,069) belonged to the household population. Of the 558,069 household population in Sarangani Province in 2020, 51.7 percent or 288,722 were males and 48.3 percent or 269,347 were females.
Categorically by age group, 35.2 percent (196,288) were under 15 years of age (young dependents) while 58.5 percent (339,744) were the working-age group (15 to
64 years old) or the economically-active population. Comprising the remaining 3.9 percent or 22,037 persons were those in age groups 65 years and over (old dependents).
Individuals aged 0 to 14 years old, 15 to 64 years old, and 65 years old and over accounted for 36.2 percent, 60.3 percent, and 3.4 percent, respectively, of the household population of Sarangani Province in 2015.
