The Municipal CBMS Coordinating Board Convening in Kiamba, Sarangani Province was held at the Mayor’s Conference Room, Kiamba, Sarangani Province on January 10, 2024 at 3:00pm. The Municipal Administrator Designate Alfredo C. Balanag presided over the meeting in behalf of Honorable George F. Falgui, Municipal Mayor of Kiamba, Sarangani Province. He called the meeting to order declaring quorum with 14 out of 24 member agencies including Municipal Mayor’s Office, Philippine Statistics Authority, Municipal Planning and Development Office, Environment and Natural Resources Office, Human Resource and Management Office, Agriculture Office, Budget Office, Health Office, Public Order and Safety Office, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Cooperative Development Office, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer, Sangguniang Bayan/Panlungsod, and Civil Society Organizations and the private sector.

Ismael B. Ramos, Jr., Chief Statistical Specialist of Philippine Statistics Authority – Sarangani (PSA-Sarangani) presented the Objectives, Scope and Coverage of the 2024 CBMS, Legal Bases, Data Privacy and Confidentiality of Information and presentation of the Roles and Responsibilities of the Members of the CCBs (per CBMS Council Resolutions). Meanwhile, Carla Marylou D. Fusilero, Senior Statistical Specialist of PSA-Sarangani, discussed the possible assistance of the members of the CCBs for the CBMS operations and presented the 2024 CBMS Timetable of Activities. Statistical Specialist II Mark Jiel D. Aninag and Information System Analyst 1 Kimberly S. Dohina served as the secretariat during the MCCB Malapatan.

Alfredo C. Balanag, Municipal Admin Designate, assured that the Mayor’s Office will provide vitamins for the enumerators. Also, he offered the PhilSys room as potential headquarter during the enumeration period. Moreover, Zorayda G. Labus of MLGOO offered that Kiamba Cable can give free broadcast for public service. During the convening, all of the solicited motions were moved for adoption of resolution and seconded by Zorayda G. Labus, MLGOO.

The conduct of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) in 1st to 6th income class cities and municipalities was funded by the PSA. CBMS aims to provide city, municipality and barangay-level data that enables them to identify specific areas of improvement and implement targeted interventions accordingly.
