Hon. Salway D. Sumbo, the Municipal Mayor of Malapatan, Sarangani Province presided the Municipal CBMS Coordinating Board Convening (MCCB) for the 2024 CBMS Synchronous Implementation. The MCCB Malapatan was held at the Mayor’s Conference Room, Malapatan, Sarangani Province on January 16, 2024. Mayor Sumbo presided the meeting and called to order declaring quorum with 20 out of 24 member agencies including Municipal Mayor’s Office, Philippine Statistics Authority, Municipal Planning and Development Office, Social Welfare and Development Office, Engineering Office, Environment and Natural Resources Office, Human Resource and Management Office, Public Employment Service office, Public Information Office, Agriculture Office, Civil Registry Office, Health Office, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Tourism Office, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer, Philippine National Police, Sangguniang Bayan, Association of Barangay Captains, Civil Society Organizations and the private sector and Mahintana Foundation.
Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Sarangani, Ismael B. Ramos, Jr., presented the Objectives, Scope and Coverage of the 2024 CBMS, Legal Bases, Data Privacy and Confidentiality of Information. Moreover, Senior Statistical Specialist Carla Mary Lou D. Fusilero, discussed the Roles and Responsibilities of the Members of the CCBs (per CBMS Council Resolutions), possible assistance of the members of the CCBs for the CBMS operations and the 2024 CBMS Timetable of Activities. Statistical Specialist II Mark Jiel D. Aninag and Information System Analyst 1 Kimberly S. Dohina served as the secretariat during the MCCB Malapatan.
The Municipality of Malapatan thru the Tourism Office offered to use their duplo machine in printing the CBMS forms. Moreover, the Municipal Health Office will provide first aide assistance and the PNP will also provide assistance to far flung areas in Malapatan. Senior Statistical Specialist Carla Marylou D. Fusilero of PSA Sarangani solicited motions and all of the four (4) motions were moved by Alhaber Nawa, HRMO, for adoption through resolutions and seconded by Raquel Pajarillo, MMO-Tourism.
The conduct of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) in 1st to 6th income class cities and municipalities was funded by the PSA. CBMS aims to provide city, municipality and barangay-level data that enables them to identify specific areas of improvement and implement targeted interventions accordingly.
