The Municipal CBMS Coordinating Board Convening in Malungon, Sarangani Province was held at the Mayor’s Conference Room, Malungon, Sarangani Province on January 12, 2024 at 1:00pm. The Officer-In-Charge of the Mayor, Hon. Romel C. Retuya presided over the meeting in behalf of Honorable Atty. Maria Theresa D. Constantino, Municipal Mayor of Malungon, Sarangani Province. He called the meeting to order declaring quorum with 13 out of 24 member agencies including Municipal Mayor’s Office, Philippine Statistics Authority, Municipal Planning and Development Office, Social Welfare and Development Office, Engineering Office, Environment and Natural Resources Office, Human Resource and Management Office, Public Employment Service office, Public Information Office, Agriculture Office, Civil Registry Office, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Department of Education, Philippine National Police, Sangguniang Bayan, and Civil Society Organizations and the private sector.

Senior Statistical Specialist Carla Marylou D. Fusilero presented the Objectives, Scope and Coverage of the 2024 CBMS, Legal Bases, Data Privacy and Confidentiality of Information and presentation of the Roles and Responsibilities of the Members of the CCBs (per CBMS Council Resolutions), discussion of the possible assistance of the members of the CCBs for the CBMS operations and presentation of the 2024 CBMS Timetable of Activities. Statistical Specialist II Mark Jiel D. Aninag and Information System Analyst 1 Kimberly S. Dohina served as the secretariat during the MCCB.

Richard E. Saranillo of MPDO offered the municipal’s riso machine to help in printing the forms and other documents needed. Moreover, Malungon Central Department of Education can also offer their classrooms as training venue but subject for availability. During the convening, all of the solicited motions were moved by Richard E. Saranillo, MPDO, for adoption through resolution and seconded by Leonora D. Fantin, LCRO.

The conduct of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) in 1st to 6th income class cities and municipalities was funded by the PSA. CBMS aims to provide city, municipality and barangay-level data that enables them to identify specific areas of improvement and implement targeted interventions accordingly.
