The Philippine Statistical Authority (PSA) - Philippine Identification System in Cotabato Province has accepted to a request from the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) SOCCSKSARGEN Region to conduct a special information drive and facilitate National ID registration for Muslim Filipinos last August 15, 2024 at Brgy. Banucagon, Pigcawayan, Cotabato. This initiative aims to educate the Muslim community on the significance of registering for the National ID, emphasizing its importance in accessing government services and participating fully in the national system.

The collaboration is particularly focused on reaching those who have not yet registered for the National ID, especially individuals who face challenges in visiting registration centers due to distance, mobility issues, or other barriers. By bringing the registration process directly to these communities, this partnership ensures that no one is left behind.

Furthermore, Registration Kit Operator in Pigcawayan Ms. April Monique Longno demonstrated the use of PhilSys Check, an online verification system that allows individuals and institutions to authenticate the validity of a national ID. This tool is crucial in preventing identity theft and ensuring that personal information is secure. The session included a step-by-step guide on how to use PhilSys Check, as well as a Q&A segment to address any concerns or queries from the residents.

We are extremely grateful for this collaboration, as it allows us to extend our services to underserved populations, ensuring that all Muslim Filipinos in the region have the opportunity to register and benefit from the National ID system. This joint effort underscores our commitment to inclusivity and making government services accessible to all.
