The 2024 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI), along with the 2024 Survey on Information and Communication Technology (SICT) as its rider, officially commenced this May 5, 2025 in South Cotabato. These activities aim to gather comprehensive information crucial to measuring the economic performance and digital capabilities of businesses in the province and across the nation.
Recognized as one of its flagship surveys, the ASPBI provides vital data on employment, compensation, revenues, expenses, capital expenditures, and total assets of establishments, supporting the country’s national accounts and sectoral statistics. Meanwhile, the SICT collects information on the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in businesses, including internet access, e-commerce activities, and the utilization of ICT equipment and platforms, contributing to the measurement of the digital economy.
To carry out these surveys, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – South Cotabato has deployed four trained personnel to interview selected establishments across the province. Establishments are encouraged to extend their full cooperation, as the gathered data will be instrumental in crafting evidence-based policies and economic plans. All collected information will be handled with strict confidentiality in accordance with Republic Act No. 10625 (Philippine Statistical Act of 2013) and Republic Act No. 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012).
Data collection is expected to conclude by June 2025. The PSA sincerely calls the support of all concerned establishments in ensuring the success of this agency’s undertaking.
