The Philippine Statistics Authority-Cotabato Province (PSA-Cotabato) National ID team personnel proactively took part in an awareness campaign to reinforce the strict prohibition of printing the Digital National ID on Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) or plastic cards. This initiative aligns with the official public advisory released in September 2024, which emphasizes compliance with national regulations governing the proper use and handling of the Digital National ID. 

As part of the campaign, PSA-Cotabato personnel conducted public information drives and disseminated advisory materials to printing establishments, urging them not to offer lamination or unauthorized printing of the Digital National ID on PVC cards. Instead, the public is strongly encouraged to access and download their official Digital National ID via the official website: https://national-id.gov.ph/. It is crucial to note that any Digital National ID printed on a PVC card will not be recognized as a valid proof of identity or age for any public or private transactions. 

Furthermore, unauthorized printing, preparation, or issuance of the National ID is a serious offense under Republic Act No. 11055, also known as the Philippine Identification System Act. Any individual or group found guilty of such violations may face severe legal consequences, including imprisonment ranging from three (3) to six (6) years and monetary fines between Php1,000,000.00 and Php3,000,000.00. 

The PSA-Cotabato reiterates its commitment to ensuring the integrity of the National ID system and calls on the public and relevant stakeholders to adhere strictly to these guidelines. Compliance with these regulations will help maintain the credibility, security, and intended purpose of the Philippine Identification System.
