The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in collaboration with the municipal government of Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat has successfully conducted the 2023 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data turnover ceremony. The ceremonial undertaking took place at Municipal Gymnasium of Senator Ninoy Aquino (SNA) on the 20 May 2024. This action shows the PSA's firm dedication in delivering useful and dependable data, thereby facilitating evidence-based policymaking and development planning.
It was attended by distinguished guests, including the Regional Director of PSA XII, Atty. Maqtahar L. Manulon, CESO V duly represented OIC - Chief Statistical Specialist Ms. Ma. Eileen A. Berdeprado of PSA-South Cotabato and Supervising Statistical Specialist Ms. Norhayyah A. Tula of RSSO XII, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Sultan Kudarat, Ms. Herlita G. Caraan, officials and staff of LGU Senator Ninoy Aquino and PSA XII.
OIC-CSS Berdeprado delivered her message extending the heartfelt congratulations to the Municipality of SNA. After more than a year of dedicated efforts, the 2023 CBMS data sets are finally in the hands of LGU SNA. She also emphasizes that the ceremony is a milestone forming the data sets into actionable insights that will drive meaningful change for the people of SNA. These data sets are not just statistics but a catalyst for progress in encapsulating the aspirations, needs, and challenges of the people of SNA.
She added, that the collaboration of the LGU and PSA underscores the power of unity and shared purpose of achieving common goals. As the LGU move forward that has been stated with fruitful collaboration and partnership. The PSA’s ongoing implementation of the CBMS is a crucial step towards ensuring the timely, accurate, relevant, and generation of statistics on poverty and other crucial indicators in the provincial, municipal, and barangay levels. She also said that these data will be instrumental from the policies that address not just the root causes of poverty and judge sustainable development. The PSA is eagerly anticipating the positive transformation that will arise from the utilization of 2023 CBMS data in the community.
During the ceremony, the PSA turned over to the LGU of Senator Ninoy Aquino the results of the CBMS that was conducted in 2023. Moreover, municipality of Senator Ninoy Aquino reported a total of 12,555 responding household which implies a high participation rate among household respondents, indicating extensive participation among household respondents.
The PSA officials and representatives from LGU expressed their hope that the CBMS data would aid the LGU in reaching sustainable development goals and alleviating poverty in the community. The ceremony ended with a pledge from both the LGU and PSA to collaborate further in enhancing the well-being of Senator Ninoy Aquino residents.
