       The Quarterly Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (QSPBI) is a nationwide survey which aims to provide quarterly data on the identified leading industry major groups in all sector of the economy, except those in agriculture, forestry and fishing sector, as input in the generation of Quarterly National Accounts of the Philippines and in the construction of Quarterly Economic Indices, which measure the performance of the Philippines Economy. These data will be used by government planners, policymakers, and program developers in formulating economic development plans, policies and programs.

 In line with this, the PSA XII successfully conducted the 2024 QSPBI Second Level Training of Field Operations and Processing last 28-29 May 2024 at Bersales Hall, PSA RSSO XII Regional Office in Koronadal City. The said activity was participated by focal persons from PSA Regional and Provincial Offices. 

 Regional Director Atty. Maqtahar L. Manulon, CESO V, said in his message that the PSA will continue to implement the conduct of the 2024 QSPBI as input in the generation of quarterly national accounts of the Philippines and in the construction of quarterly economic indices which measures in the performance of the Philippine Economy. 

 Two representatives from the Services Statistics Division (SSD) of PSA Central Office, Senior Statistical Specialist Harold D. Carpio and Statistical Specialist II Daisy Rose S. Ordoñes, served as trainers in the activity. After their presentations, issues and concerns were raised on the recent development in the QSPBI Data Processing System and some concepts and definition. All questions/queries were resolved at the end of the activity.

 Statistical Specialist II Evelyn L. Quijano of RSSO XII delivered her closing message highlighting a hope in thorough understanding of the concept of the QSPBI participants. She gave her warmest congratulations to all who are filled with information that concludes a successful training. She thanked the two resource persons from SSD for patiently imparting their expertise and to all participants joining the activity virtually and onsite.
