The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) will be conducting a geotagging and delineation of Enumeration Areas (EA) for the development of the Enumeration Area Reference Files (EARF) as part of the preparations for the 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF) in February 2023. The activity aims to update the post-processed statistical data and geospatial information collected from various vital censuses and surveys of the PSA. These updated data will be integrated into the current GIS-based census maps of the office which is paramount to the organization's goal of technological advancement.

The activity includes: 1) geotagging of the missing building points listed in the Census of Population and Housing (CPH) Forms 2 and 3; 2)delineation of enumeration areas; 3) development of Enumeration Area Reference File (EARF) with its accompanying delineated EA boundary shapefiles; and, 4) printing of block maps which will be used during the conduct of the 2022 CAF.

In preparation for the conduct of the activity, the 2nd Level Training was conducted on 21-25 March 2022 at the Mapa Hall of PSA Regional Office XII in Koronadal City. In attendance were the Chief Statistical Specialists of the Provincial Offices, the provincial mapping focal persons and their hired Map Data Reviewers (MDRs) and Map Data Processors (MDPs).

The training was conducted by Mr. Edward Donald F. Eloja, the Regional Mapping Focal Person, Mr. Mujahid J. Jaji, the Alternate Regional Mapping Focal Person, and Mr. Regie T. Lemana, the Provincial Mapping Focal Person of PSA-Sultan Kudarat. Ms. Jan Marnie Bettita P. Azares, Cartographer III of the Systems Operations and Infrastructure Division of PSA Central Office, assisted in the conduct of the training.

The field operation will start on 04 April 2022 until 11 July 2022.
