The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) XII enjoins the public to cooperate and support the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (CPH). It will be simultaneously conducted in all barangays nationwide starting September 1, 2020. The enumeration period will last for 25 days until September 29, 2020, including Saturdays and holidays. Respondents are requested to provide truthful information to census items asked by census enumerators.

The Census of Population and Housing (CPH) is the entire process of collecting, compiling, evaluating, analyzing, publishing, and disseminating data about population and living quarters in a country. It is designed to take an inventory of the total population and housing units in the Philippines and to collect information about their characteristics.

The nationwide activity entails the listing and recording of the characteristics of each individual and each living quarter as of a specified time and within a specific territory.

May 1, 2020 (Friday) at 12:01 a.m. will be the reference date and time for the 2020 CPH on which the enumeration of the population and collection of pertinent data on housing will refer.

The 2020 CPH aims to provide government executives, policy and decision makers, and planners with updated population and housing data as bases for social and economic development plans, policies, and programs at the national and local levels. The private sector, business sector as well as research institutions are also among the main users of the CPH data.
