The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) XII will conduct the Regional Dissemination Forum on the Full Year 2018 Official Poverty Statistics on 30 January 2020 at Royal Ballroom, East Asia Royale Hotel, National Highway Lagao, General Santos City. This half-day activity aims to disseminate to the general public the highlights of the Full Year 2018 Poverty Statistics in SOCCSKSARGEN Region. Registration will start at 8:00 AM.

Expected to attend are representatives from the Regional Line Agencies (RLAs), Local Government Units (LGUs), and the tri-media. Poverty statistics specialists from the Poverty and Human Statistics Division (PHSD) of the PSA Central Office will be assisting the PSA XII in the conduct of the activity.

The Official Poverty Statistics of the Philippines was released to the public by PSA, in accordance with Executive Order No. 352, Series of 1996, Designation of Statistical Activities that Will Generate Critical Data for Decision-making of the Government and Private Sector and the PSA Board Resolution No. 01, Series of 2017-171, Approving the Refinements in the Official Poverty Estimation Methodology.

The estimates will be useful to policy makers and program implementers in the formulation of appropriate policies and programs as well as in the enhancement of strategies on targeting schemes aimed at reducing poverty.
