Kidapawan City, Cotabato. – Now in its 13th year, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) XII successfully held the Annual Statlympics on 29-30 October 2024 at the Elai Resort, Hotel, and Recreation Center in Kidapawan City. The event was attended by participants from the four provinces under PSA XII, as well as from the regional office. The primary objectives of the activity were to foster teamwork, unity, and camaraderie among the employees of PSA XII, while also promoting health and wellness within the organization.
“Let us use this time to create new connections and strengthen existing bonds. This sportsfest is not just a friendly competition, it is a platform to build bridges, to create network that will make PSA XII more stronger and more cohesive and more connected. Let us embrace the opportunity to work alongside our colleagues from the different divisions, different units, and different provinces. Breaking down the silos that may sometimes separate us. Today is not just a physical performance, this is a celebration of the diverse trends and talents each one of us possessed. Whether you win or lose, it is the spirit of the participation that truly matters.” PSA South Cotabato OIC-PSO Ma. Eileen Berdeprado stated.
Regional Director Atty. Maqtahar Manulon said in his message that the recognition of sports play a crucial role in fostering discipline, dedication and resilience, the qualities that are also fundamental in our daily work at PSA. He added that the spirit of unity this statlympics brings together participants from different provincial offices allowing us to strengthen unity, bonds, share experiences, and build lasting friendships.
Four teams were competing to the series of sports, boards game, and Palarong Pinoy prepared by the host province, PSA South Cotabato. The list of sports and games are as follows: Badminton, Basketball, Billard, Dama, Dart, Scrabble, Skrib-Age, Swimming, Table Tennis, and Volleyball.
In an exciting conclusion, Sigma took first place and was crowned the reigning champion. The Delta Team placed first runner-up, closely behind, after an impressive performance throughout the competition. Second runner-up Chi-Square Team and third runner-up Alpha Team and both finished in the top four. The tournament was marked by fierce competition and exceptional teamwork, showcasing the exceptional talent and perseverance of all the participating teams.
