Cotabato (North Cotabato) Consumer Price Index

Survey of Retail Prices of Commodities conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has generated a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 140.1 for Cotabato (North Cotabato) as of August 2021, using 2012 as the base year. This implies that the cost of a basket of goods and services commonly purchased by a typical Filipino household in Cotabato (North Cotabato) province was at an average price of 140.1 as of August 2021.

Commodities under the Groups of Alcohol Beverages and Tobocco; Restaurant and Miscellaneous and Services; Housing , Water , Electricity, Gas and Other Fuel and Health had the highest corresponding CPI of 291.2, 160.4, 148.0 and 146.8 in August 2021, respectively. These four (4) commodity groups have CPIs higher than the total average CPI of all items in the province.

On the other hand, Communication have the lowest CPI of 106.3 during the same period.

Inflation Rate

The average headline inflation rate in Cotabato (North Cotabato) is 6.5 percent as of August 2021 (2012=100). This implies that the price of commodities and prices in the province on the average increased by 6.5 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.

Commodity group under Transport; Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco; Restaurant and Miscellaneous Goods and Services and Health have shown the most volatile annual prices in August 2021 with the inflation rate of 24.2percent, 15.3 percent , 11.0 percent and 8.7 percent respectively. These four (4) commodity groups have inflation rate higher than the total average inflation rate of all items in the province.
