Highlights of the Municipality of Libungan, Cotabato Population based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH)

The population of the Municipality of Libungan as of May 1, 2020 was 56,269 based on the result of the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH). This accounts for about 3.77 percent of the population of the province of Cotabato (North Cotabato) in 2020 which was 1,490,618.

The 2020 population of the municipality was higher by 7,051 from the population in 2015 and 10,974 more than the population of 45,295 in 2010 and 15,680 more than the population of 40,589 in 2000, (Table 1)

The population of the municipality of Libungan increased by 3.06 percent annually, on average , during the period 2015-2020. By comparison, this rate is higher than the municipality’s population from 2010 to 2015 which was 1.42. (Table 2)

If the municipality’s current annual population growth rate (APGR) of 3.06 percent continues, the population of the Municipality of Libungan is expected to double in 22.9 years.

The Municipality of Libungan is composed of tenty (20) barangayswhere Barangay Poblacion had the biggest population in 2020 with 7,028 persons of 12.49 percent of the total population of the municipality.

Barangay Kiloyao had the smallest population with 1,092 persons in 2020. This population accounted for about 1.94 percent of the municipality’s population. (Table 3)
