Total external trade up
The external trade in goods in SOCCSKSARGEN Region in January 2022 reached US$177.044 million, it grew by 19.4 percent from US$148.330 million in January 2021 (Table 1).

Trade balance decrease
Balance of trade in goods (BoT-G) is the difference between the value of exports and imports. The BoT-G amounted to US$99.994 million in January 2022, more than twice the US$34.987 million recorded in January 2021 (Table 1).

Merchandise Trade
An increase of 2.0 percent was recorded in exports from US$86.156 million in January 2021 to US$87.893 million in January 2022 in SOCCSKSARGEN Region. The value of overall export volume slightly went down by 1.4 percent to 78.120 million kilograms in January 2022 from 79.239 million kilograms a year ago. Total imports were valued at $89.152 million in January 2022, up by 43.4 percent from $62.174 million the prior year. Import volume went up to 178.064 million kilograms from 114.226 million kilograms the previous year.
