PSA Hands Over 2022 CBMS Data to the Local Government Unit of Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)  in collaboration with the municipal government of Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat has successfully conducted the 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data turnover ceremony. The ceremonial undertaking took place at  Municipal Covered Court of Kalamansig on the 12th of     February 2024. This action shows the PSA's firm dedication to delivering useful and dependable data, thereby facilitating evidence-based policymaking and   development planning.

It was attended by distinguished guests, including the Undersecretary Dennis Claire S. Mapa, PhD, the National Statistician and Civil Registrar General (NSCRG) of PSA, Kristine Joy S. Briones, Assistant National Statistician (ANS) of Community-Based Statistics Service (CBSS), Atty. Maqtahar L. Manulon, CESO V, Regional Director of PSA XII, Ms. Herlita G. Caraan, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Sultan Kudarat, representatives from DICT Sultan Kudarat, and staff of PSA Central Office and PSA XII.

Usec. Mapa emphasized that the CBMS plays an invaluable role in promoting the welfare and preserving the   cultural heritage of the indigenous peoples. Through the collection of disaggregated data and the identification of indigenous households, the CBMS data will enable the municipality of Kalamansig to tailor development initiatives that respect the traditions and aspirations of our brothers and sisters. He added, it is through inclusive and culturally sensitive approaches that we ensure the holistic development and empowerment of all members of our community.

During the ceremony, the PSA turned over the LGU of Kalamansig the results of the CBMS that was conducted in 2022. Moreover, municipality of Kalamansig reported a 97.6 percent response rate which implies a high participation rate among household respondents, indicating extensive participation among household respondents.


The PSA officials and representatives from LGU expressed their hope that the CBMS data would aid the LGU in reaching sustainable development goals and alleviating poverty in the community. The ceremony ended with a pledge from both the LGU and PSA to collaborate further to enhance the well-being of Kalamansig's residents.
