
SOCCSKSARGEN, Philippines - February 14, 2025 - On Valentine's Day, 225 couples were married across the region's different municipalities and highly urbanized cities (HUCs) as part of the annual Kasalan ng Bayan, which aligned with Civil Registration Month celebrations.
The mass weddings took place in various locations, including the municipalities of Libungan in Cotabato, Banga, Lake Sebu, and Tantangan in South Cotabato, as well as President Quirino, Senator Ninoy Aquino, and the City of Tacurong in Sultan Kudarat. Additionally, the City of General Santos held its own Kasalan ng Bayan event.
Officials and personnel from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) XII attended the significant occasion to support the community-building undertaking, which strives to emphasize the importance of civil registration. Kasalan ng Bayan is an important activity that encourages couples to formalize their unions and have their weddings officially acknowledged while also fostering a sense of unity and love throughout the region.
