The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) XII enjoins the public to cooperate and support the second visit of the 2021 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) as a rider survey to the January 2022 Labor Force Survey (LFS).

The authority and mandate of the PSA to conduct the said surveys emanated from Article 5, Rule 4 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of RA 10625, otherwise known as the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, stipulating that the Philippine Statistics Authority is primarily responsible for all national censuses and surveys, sectoral statistics, consolidation of selected administrative recording systems and compilation of national accounts.

The FIES is a survey on family income and expenditure of households undertaken by the PSA across the country. It is the main source of data on family income and expenditure in the Philippines. The 2021 FIES is the nineteenth survey conducted from the time it started in 1957. The results of the 2021 FIES visit 1 and visit 2 will be used to estimate the 2021 Official Poverty Statistics which will be released in October 2022. The reference period for the FIES visit 2 is July to December 2021.

The enumeration period is expected to be completed in 19 days which started on January 10 and will end in January 31, 2022 including Saturdays.
