The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) XII, under its Regional Director, Atty. Maqtahar L. Manulon, in partnership with its Provincial Offices once again spearheaded the culmination of the 34th Civil Registration Month (CRM) on 01 March 2024 at Paraiso Verde Hotel, Koronadal City.

About 68 participants witnessed the said activity; 13 of those were Municipal Civil Registrars (MCRs) and 16 were LCRO staff.

The awarding of the Top 10 Outstanding Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) was one of the regional highlights of the 2024 Civil Registration Month (CRM)  observance in the region. The said activity aims to recognize the efforts of the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) in upholding the awareness of the citizenry concerning Civil Registration matters and continuous appreciation of their initiatives to further improve the delivery of services to its clients. The celebration also served as venue to strengthen the partnership of PSA and its LCROs and further advocate the CRVS Decade Ministerial Declaration in Asia and the Pacific to “Get Everyone in the Picture” and in the Philippines to  “Get Every Pinoy and Pinay in the Picture”. 

Out of the 49 LCROs in the region, LCRO-General Santos City was declared as the Most Outstanding Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) for 2023 garnering an average score of 98.45%. LCRO-President Quirino was 1st Runner-Up (96.27%) followed by LCRO-Surallah as 2nd Runner-Up (94.49%). LCRO-Tacurong City (94.41%) and LCRO-Lake Sebu (93.29%) placed 3rd and 4th Runner-Ups, respectively. LCRO-Kidapawan City, LCRO-Koronadal City, LCRO-Polomolok, LCRO-Tantangan and LCRO-Tampakan were also awarded who garnered rank 6 to 10, respectively. Moreover, LCRO-Tantangan received the Most Improved LCRO for CY 2023.

Apart from the outstanding LCROs, winners of the following contest were also awarded, to wit: 1) Essay Writing Contest, 2) Infographics Contest, 3) Poster Making Contest, 4) Tiktok Dance Challenge, 5) Best Photo in Action, 6) Oratorical Contest, and 7) Slogan Making Contest.

Winners received Certificates of Recognition and tokens.
