Koronadal City, South Cotabato – The Philippine Statistics Authority XII conducted the Data Dissemination of February 2025 Inflation Results of SOCCSKSARGEN Region on 07 March 2025 at PSA RSSO XII Office, Koronadal City. It was attended by the representatives of different regional line agencies and other stakeholders.

In her welcome remarks, SrSS Christy R. Amban welcomed all the participants and emphasized that this information is crucial to the policymakers, businesses, and even for the consumer in making decisions about daily spending habits. And by understanding the figures, the public will gain insights that will make informed choices especially when it comes to identifying goods and commodities experiencing the fastest price increases.

The February 2025 Inflation Report of SOCCSKSARGEN Region was presented by Office-In-Charge of SOCD Ms. Sittimazuin M. Hofileña, MNSA. According to her, the region's inflation rate recorded the lowest inflation rate of -0.3 percent since September 2015 when SOCCSKSARGEN registered an inflation rate of -0.4 percent.

The report indicates that the overall decline in inflation for February 2025 was primarily attributed to a -0.6 percent decrease in the prices of Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages. The major contributors to inflation were Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (-1.1 percent), Transport (-1.5 percent) and Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other Fuels (0.6 percent).

The commodities that most significantly contributed to the deceleration of inflation include: Rice (-12.2 percent), Electricity from all sources (-6.4 percent), Gasoline (-6.1 percent), Corn (-13.6 percent), and Eggplants (-11.4 percent).

In February 2025, households in the bottom 30% income bracket of the SOCCSKSARGEN Region registered an inflation rate of -1.1 percent.
