The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) XII will spearhead the observance of the 30th Civil Registration Month (CRM) in SOCCSKSARGEN Region. To kick-off the celebration, an Opening Ceremony will be conducted on 31 January 2020 at Cinco Niñas, Koronadal City. There will be a motorcade that will start at 7:00 AM from the City Hall grounds passing through Koronadal City’s major thoroughfares and will end at Cinco Niñas for the Opening Program. Highlights of the said activity include Civil Registration Quiz and presentations on CRVS Decade in the Philippines and Analysis of Causes of National Deaths (ANACONDA).

Expected to attend are representatives from the Regional Line Agencies (RLAs), Local Government Units (LGUs), and City/Municipal Civil Registrars (C/MCRs).

Now on its 30th year, this month-long observance bears the theme “Shaping Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) by Embracing New Trends in the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR)”.

The CRM aims to enhance nationwide awareness and remind the citizenry of their duty to register acts and events concerning their status as well as uphold continuous appreciation of the legal, administrative and statistical values of civil registry documents such as births, deaths and marriage certificates. The celebration also served as venue to further advocate the CRVS Decade Ministerial Declaration in Asia and the Pacific to “Get Everyone in the Picture” and in the Philippines to “Get Every Pinoy and Pinay in the Picture”.

The annual observance is pursuant to Proclamation No. 682 “Declaring the Month of February of Every Year as Civil Registration Month” dated January 28, 1991 and signed by then Pres. Corazon C. Aquino, and by virtue of PSA Office Memorandum No. 2020-01 enjoining participation in the observance of the 2020 Civil Registration Month Celebration.
