The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) XII will spearhead the observance of the Civil Registration Month (CRM) in SOCCSKSARGEN Region. Now on its 31^st year, this month-long observance bears the theme “Strengthening Civil Registration and Vital Statistics’ Digital Information: The Ways to Manage the New Normal”.

To kick-off the celebration, an Opening Ceremony will be conducted on 01 February 2021 at Cinco Niñas, Koronadal City. Highlights of the said activity include Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Quiz and presentations.

Expected to attend are representatives from the Regional Line Agencies (RLAs), Local Government Units (LGUs), and City/Municipal Civil Registrars (C/MCRs). The CRM aims to enhance nationwide awareness and remind the citizenry of their duty to register acts and events concerning their status as well as uphold continuous appreciation of the legal, administrative and statistical values of civil registry documents such as births, deaths and marriage certificates. The celebration also served as venue to further advocate the CRVS Decade Ministerial Declaration in Asia and the Pacific to “Get Everyone in the Picture” and in the Philippines to “Get Every Pinoy and Pinay in the Picture”.

The annual observance is pursuant to Proclamation No. 682 “Declaring the Month of February of Every Year as Civil Registration Month” dated January 28, 1991 and signed by then Pres. Corazon C. Aquino.
