Highlights of Arakan’s Cotabato Population based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH)

Arakan’s population was recorded at 50,558 persons

The Municipality of Arakan, Cotabato has a total population of 50,558 as of May 1, 2020 based on the result of the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH).

The 2020 population of the municipality is higher by 2,330 compared with the population of 48,228 in 2015, and 7,004 compared with the population of 43,554 in 2010. (Table 1)

The munipality’s population grew by 1.00 percent

Arakan, Cotabato population increased by 1.00 percent annually, on average, during the period 2015-2020. By comparison, the rate at which the province population grew during the period 2010-2015 was higher at 1.96 percent. (Table 2)

If the municipality’s current annual population growth rate (APGR) of 1.00 percent continues, the population of Arakan is expected to double in 70 years.

Greenfield ranked 1 as the most populous barangay in Arakan

Barangay Greenfield recorded the biggest population with 5,944 persons or 11.76 percent of the total population. This was followed by barangay Doroloman with 4,077 persons or 8.06 percent and barangay Malibatuan with 3,529 persons or 6.98 percent. (Table 3 )
