Highlights of the Population of Makilala, Cotabato
2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH)
As of May 1, 2020, the population of Makilala is 87,927 which is based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH). The official count is declared by the President of the Philippines under Proclamation No. 1179 dated July 6, 2021.
The 2020 population is higher by 4,076 persons as compared to the population in 2015 which is 83,851 and also higher by 10,418 persons compared to the 2010 with 77,508. (Table 1)
Among the 17 municipalities and one city in the province, the Municipality of Makilala ranked 7th with highest population of 87,927 persons, comprises of 5.89 percent of the total population of the province.
From 2015 to 2020, the population of Makilala decreased by 1.00 percent annually, lower by 0.51 percent as compared from 2010 to 2015 with 1.51 annual population growth rate. (Table 2)
The Municipality of Makilala is composed of thirty-eight (38) barangays. (Table 3)
