The headline inflation in Sarangani Province recorded a decline of 1.5 percent in March 2025 from an annual drop of 1.6 percent in February 2025. In March 2024, the inflation rate was higher at 4.6 percent.

Export value went down by 7.0 percent to US$134.369 million in March 2024 from US$144.507 million in March 2023. The volume of exports totaled up to 127.185 million kilograms in March 2024 from 136.494 million kilograms the previous year. The value of imports decreased by 34.4 percent to US$59.685 million in March 2024 from US$90.930 million in March 2023. Imports volume were summed up to 169.728 million kilograms in March 2024 from 233.516 million kilograms in March 2023.

The volume of exports summed up to 135.809 million kilograms in April 2024 from 76.239 million kilograms the previous year. The value of imports increased by 11.9 percent to US$95.774 million in April 2024 from US$85.555 million in April 2023. Imports volume were up to 318.034 million kilograms in April 2024 from 148.064 million kilograms in April 2023.

The volume of palay production in Sarangani Province registered lower growth in 2024 compared to its level in 2023. The production was estimated at 37,445.14 metric tons, or 6.9 percent lower than the 40,232.94 metric tons recorded in 2023.

The volume of corn production in Sarangani Province estimated at 160,034.02 metric tons in 2024 posted a slight decrease of 0.1 percent from its level of 160,159.09 metric tons in 2023. Decrease in corn production was observed in yellow corn by 0.6 percent, from 83,614.63 metric tons in 2023 to 83,080.08 metric tons in 2024. Meanwhile, white corn production went up by 0.5 percent, from 76,544.46 metric tons in 2023 to 76,953.94 metric tons in 2024.

Philippine Statistics Authority-Saragani conducted the quarterly Client Satisfaction Measurement (CSM) for the first quarter (1Q) in the Civil Registry System Outlet located in General Santos City to determine clients’ perceptions regarding their satisfaction with the civil registration services that the office provides like the issuance of copies of civil registry documents and certifications. Results on the satisfaction rating is one of the key performance indicators being reported for the Agency Performance Measures and in compliance with the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA).

PALAY PRODUCTION IN SOUTH COTABATO UP BY 51.3 PERCENT
 

The volume of palay production in South Cotabato went up by 2.1 percent from 76,982 metric tons in the fourth quarter of 2023 to 78,571 metric tons in the same quarter of 2024. This resulted to an increase of 1,589 metric tons of palay in the same period.

The General Santos City’s headline inflation or overall inflation eased to 0.0 percent in February 2025 from 1.1 percent in January 2025. In February 2024, the inflation rate was higher at 3.5 percent.
