The export value decreased by 17.1 percent to US$110.177 million in October 2023 from US$132.914 million in October 2022. The volume of exports summed up to 103.848 million kilograms in October 2023 from 122.478 million kilograms the previous year. The value of imports went up by 45.2 percent to US$104.047 million in October 2023 from US$71.674 million in October 2022. Imports volume was totaled to 203.734 million kilograms in October 2023 from 204.751 million kilograms in October 2022.

The total inventory of livestock and poultry in the province as of 01 January 2024 was estimated at 925,606 heads/birds which was 10.4 percent lower than the recorded 1,032,801 heads/birds as of 01 January 2023.

This was lower than both the national and regional levels which stood at 2.3 percent. The city’s average inflation from January to October 2024 stood at 3.1 percent. In October 2023, the inflation rate was higher at 4.5 percent.

The headline inflation in Sarangani Province dropped to 1.2 percent in October 2024 from 1.5 percent in September 2024. This was lower than both the regional and national levels at 2.3 percent. In October 2023, the inflation rate was higher at 5.2 percent. The provincial average inflation rate for the last ten (10) months of the year registered at 4.0 percent.

The total volume of production of livestock and poultry in the province of Sarangani for the year 2023 was estimated at 16,335.26 metric tons which was 3.6 percent higher than 15,763.74 metric tons recorded in 2022.

The total production of the different commodity groups namely, fruit crops, vegetables and root crops and non-food and industrial crops in 2023 decreased by 4.0 percent compared to its production in 2022 same year. The decline was attributed to the decreased production of vegetables (-22.4%), fruits (-8.7%), and Non-food and Industrial Crops (-2.3%).

The inflation rate or the year-on-year change on the prices of goods and services commonly purchased by people in the province of Sultan Kudarat increased to 3.2 percent in October 2024 compared to 2.6 percent recorded in September 2024. This brings the provincial average inflation from January to October 2024 at 4.5 percent.
