The total volume of production of livestock and poultry in the province of Sarangani for the year 2023 was estimated at 16,335.26 metric tons which was 3.6 percent higher than 15,763.74 metric tons recorded in 2022.

The total production of the different commodity groups namely, fruit crops, vegetables and root crops and non-food and industrial crops in 2023 decreased by 4.0 percent compared to its production in 2022 same year. The decline was attributed to the decreased production of vegetables (-22.4%), fruits (-8.7%), and Non-food and Industrial Crops (-2.3%).

The city’s inflation rate for the bottom 30% income households declined to 2.0 percent in October 2024 from 2.8 percent in September 2024. In October 2023, inflation rate was posted at 5.2 percent.

The province’s inflation rate for the bottom 30% income households declined to 1.5 percent in October 2024 from 2.0 percent in September 2024. In October 2023, inflation rate was posted at 6.4 percent.

The overall inflation rate for the bottom 30% income households in the province of Sultan Kudarat increased to 3.7 percent in October 2024, compared to 2.3 percent reported in September 2024. In October 2023 inflation was higher at 5.9 percent.

The inflation rate or the year-on-year change on the prices of goods and services commonly purchased by people in the province of Sultan Kudarat increased to 3.2 percent in October 2024 compared to 2.6 percent recorded in September 2024. This brings the provincial average inflation from January to October 2024 at 4.5 percent.

The total production of fishery in Sultan Kudarat Province decreased by 19.25 percent in the Third Quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. Both the Commercial and Municipal Fisheries dropped by 27.68 percent or 95.84 metric tons and 27.09 percent or 3,312.44 metric tons, respectively. However, Aquaculture Fishery production grew by 184.63 percent or 512.64 metric tons.

The total volume of production of palay in Sultan Kudarat Province for the Third Quarter of 2024 reached 134,125 metric tons, which is 2.24 percent lower than the 137,205 metric tons recorded in Third Quarter 2023. On the other hand, the total area harvested increased from 32,456 hectares in Third Quarter 2023 to 33,280 hectares in Third Quarter 2024 or by 2.54 percent.

The headline inflation or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket of South Cotabato decreased to 2.5 percent in September 2024. It was lower by 3.3 percentage points from the same month last year at 5.8 percent and 1.0 percentage points lower from August 2024 at 3.5 percent.

The inflation rate or the year-on-year change on the prices of goods and services commonly purchased by people in the province of Sultan Kudarat continue to slow down to 2.6 percent in September 2024 compared to 4.2 percent recorded in August 2024.
