The headline inflation rate or the year-on-year change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket in the province of Sultan Kudarat increased to 6.1 percent in December 2022 from 5.7 percent in November of the same year. This is the highest inflation rate reported for 2022 and the highest since January 2019. In December of 2021, inflation was lower at 3.0 percent. Inflation rate for all items of Sultan Kudarat Province for the whole year 2022 averaged at 5.0 percent.

The total volume of fisheries production in 2022(combined Inland Municipal and Aquaculture) in Cotabato Province posted growth by 13.8 percent compared to 2021 volume of fisheries production, from 11,401.83 metric tons in 2021 production to 21,970.72 metric tons in 2022 production.

Cotabato Province: Palay Production grew by 2.0 percent in 2022. The total volume of Palay Production of Cotabato Province in 2022 posted growth by 2.0 percent compared to 2021 total volume of Palay Production with 500,973 metric tons to 510,973.18 metric tons in 2022.

Cotabato Province: Fisheries Production slightly increased by 1.4 percent in the fourth quarter. The total volume of fisheries production in fourth quarter 2022 (combined Inland Municipal and Aquaculture) in Cotabato Province posted slight increased by 1.4 percent compared to fourth quarter in 2021.

Average Wholesale Selling Price of Cereals The average wholesale selling price of cereals in Cotabato Province increased except Rice Special in 2022 compared to the average price in 2021.

Cotabato Province: Fisheries Production decreased by -5.8 percent in the third quarter. The total volume of Fisheries Production in Cotabato Province recorded in third quarter 2022(combined Inland Municipal and Aquaculture) dropped by -5.8 percent compared to third quarter in 2021.

The inflation rate for the bottom 30% income households in the province of Sultan Kudarat slowed down to 7.5 percent in February 2023, from 8.8 percent in January 2023. This is lower than the national Inflation rate of 9.7 percent and regional Inflation rate of 8.1 percent.
