In accordance with the organizational goal of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to provide an inclusive, secure, and sustainable national identification system, the PSA Cotabato implemented the registration of Filipino children below five years old with the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys). Commencing on February 12, 2024, the implementation in the province has seen significant progress. As of March 31, 2024, a total of 7,673 Filipino children under the age of five have been successfully registered to the national identification system. This accomplishment has been made possible through strategic outreach efforts, including revisiting daycare centers, barangays, puroks, and sitios, ensuring that every eligible child is afforded the opportunity to be enrolled in the PhilSys. To facilitate the registration process, children under the age of five must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is already a PhilSys-registered. Additionally, the provision of valid identification or supporting documents is required to complete the registration procedure. Through the concerted efforts of the PSA Cotabato and its stakeholders, this initiative not only contributes to the realization of the organizational goals but also reinforces the commitment towards building a more inclusive, secure, and resilient national identification system, thereby empowering Filipino children and safeguarding their future.
