Sultan Kudarat
The Philippine Statistics Authority-Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office (PSA-SK) in partnership with the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) will spearhead the 35th Civil Registration Month (CRM) in the province this February 2025 with the theme “Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-Fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) System.” The annual celebration is conducted pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 682 s. 1991 “Declaring the Month of February of Every Year as Civil Registration Month” which aims to remind the citizenry of their duty to register acts and events concerning status of persons as well as enhance nationwide awareness and appreciation of the legal, administrative and statistical values of civil registry documents such as birth, death and marriage certificates among others.

The annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket for the bottom 30% income households or the low-income group in Sarangani Province declined to –0.9 percent in December 2024 from last month’s inflation at 0.3 percent.

The headline inflation or the annual rate of change in the prices of goods and services in the market basket in General Santos City eased to 1.1 percent in December 2024 from 1.2 percent in November 2024. This was lower than the national level at 2.9 percent and the regional level at 1.2 percent. This was also lower by 2.8 percentage points from a year ago of the same month at 3.9 percent. For the entire year of 2024, the average inflation of the city was recorded at 2.7 percent.

Sarangani
The headline inflation in Sarangani Province declined to -0.3 percent in December 2024 from 0.5 percent in November 2024. This was lower than both the regional and national levels at 1.2 percent and 2.9 percent, respectively. In December 2023, the inflation rate was higher at 5.1 percent. The average inflation of the province for the entire year 2024 was recorded at 3.4 percent.

With the theme "Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-fit PSA," the event brought together around 170 personnel from the Regional Statistical Services Office (RSSO) XII and its four provincial offices. The assembly's activities were facilitated by the regional office, with the aim of strengthening collaboration and enhance the agency's resilience and adaptability for future challenges.

The headline inflation rate or the year-on-year change in the prices of goods and services commonly purchased by people in the province of Sultan Kudarat slightly increase to 1.1 percent in December 2024 compared to 0.9 percent recorded in November 2024. This brings the provincial average inflation from January to December 2024 at 3.9 percent. In December 2023, the inflation rate was higher at 6.3 percent.

The LFS is a comprehensive nationwide survey of households conducted by the PSA aimed at collecting information on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. The data gathered from the survey offers insights into key labor market trends such as participation in the labor force, unemployment rates, hours worked, and the previous industries and occupations of individuals who are currently unemployed.

The inflation or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket for the bottom 30% income households or the low-income group in General Santos City declined to 1.4 percent inflation in November 2024 from last month’s inflation at 2.0 percent. This was lower than the regional and national levels at 1.9 percent and 2.9 percent, respectively. Moreover, the rate was lower by 3.8 percentage points from a year ago of the same month at 5.2 percent. The average inflation or the year-to-date inflation of the city was recorded at 3.7 percent.
