Population of the province of South Cotabato is 915,289  As of August 1, 2015, the population of South Cotabato is 915,289 based on the Census of Population (POPCEN 2015).  The total population of South Cotabato accounted for about 20.14 percent of Region XII population in 2015.  The 2015 population is higher by 88,089 compared with the population of 827,200 in 2010, and higher by 224,561 compared with the population of 690,728 in 2000. Refer to Table 1.

The number of construction increases by 43.67 percent in the third quarter of 2017 The number of construction statistics for the third quarter of 2017 increased by 43.67 percent compared to those issued in the same period in 2016 based on the approved building permits. Residential constructions posted 14.41 percent increase from 118 to 135 projects while non-residential constructions recorded an increase of 45.74 percent from 94 to 137. Alteration/repairs also increased by 266.7 percent while 13 additions to existing structures were recorded this quarter.

South Cotabato’s inflation rate posted a slight increase to 3.90 percent in December 2017. This is about 0.4 percentage point higher than the rate posted a year ago of the same reference month (from 3.50 to 3.90 Inflation Rate). The year-on-year price situation was up to 3.88 percent change in all item index due to the significant increase in the heavily-weighted food and non-alcoholic beverages with 5.78 percent change (from 169.5 to 179.3). The same is true for the Non-food index with 1.63 percent change (from 122.8 to 124.8). DEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE OF WOMEN AND MEN IN SULTAN KUDARAT PROVINCE Based from the results of the 2015 Census of Population, Sultan Kudarat Province has a total population of 812, 095. Among the population, 48.5 percent were women and 51.3 percent were men. This shows that men outnumbered women by 22,699 which translates to a sex ratio of 105 men for every 100 women.

The Retail Price Survey (RPS) conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority has generated a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 122.7 as of December 2019 in South Cotabato, using 2012 as the base year.

The Population of Municipality of Tulunan as of 2015 is 56,513 Municipality of Tulunan’s population as of August 1, 2015 was 56,513, based on the 2015 Census of Population (POPCEN 2015). The Municipality is the eleventh most populous among the city/municipality of Cotabato. The 2015 population is higher by 1,629 compared with the population of 54,884 in 2010, and 14,757 compared with the population of 41,756 in 2000.

For the 1st Quarter of 2019, Sultan Kudarat Province had produced a total of 54,024.29 metric tons of corn. Compared to the same quarter of last year, production decreased by 6,422.71 metric tons or 10.63 percent less. The said decrease was brought by the decrease in area harvested and yield per ha. due to the occurrence of dry spell during the 1st quarter this year.
