The total production of fishery in Sultan Kudarat Province decreased by 19.25 percent in the Third Quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. Both the Commercial and Municipal Fisheries dropped by 27.68 percent or 95.84 metric tons and 27.09 percent or 3,312.44 metric tons, respectively. However, Aquaculture Fishery production grew by 184.63 percent or 512.64 metric tons.

The total volume of production of palay in Sultan Kudarat Province for the Third Quarter of 2024 reached 134,125 metric tons, which is 2.24 percent lower than the 137,205 metric tons recorded in Third Quarter 2023. On the other hand, the total area harvested increased from 32,456 hectares in Third Quarter 2023 to 33,280 hectares in Third Quarter 2024 or by 2.54 percent.

The headline inflation or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket of South Cotabato decreased to 2.5 percent in September 2024. It was lower by 3.3 percentage points from the same month last year at 5.8 percent and 1.0 percentage points lower from August 2024 at 3.5 percent.

The inflation rate or the year-on-year change on the prices of goods and services commonly purchased by people in the province of Sultan Kudarat continue to slow down to 2.6 percent in September 2024 compared to 4.2 percent recorded in August 2024.

The headline inflation or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket of South Cotabato increased to 4.1 percent in July 2024.

In the first semester of 2023, there were 8,016 marriages registered in SOCCSKSARGEN Region. This marked a decrease of 12.20 percent from the 9,130 marriages registered in the first semester of 2022. Sultan Kudarat showed the highest decrease at 35.73 percent, followed by Cotabato with a decrease of 8.66 percent. Sarangani province experienced a decrease of 7.71 percent for the same period.

In the First Semester of 2023, SOCCSKSARGEN Region recorded a total of 31,401 registered live births by Usual Residence of Mother, marking a significant increase of 28.20 percent from the same period in 2022 (see Table 1). South Cotabato Province exhibited the highest growth rate in birth registrations, with a remarkable increase of 282.41 percent in the First Semester of 2023, followed by Sultan Kudarat Province.

The Inflation Rate for the Bottom 30% Income Households in SOCCSKSARGEN Region decreases to 4.6% in June 2024 from 5.0% in May 2024.

Other Crops total production of SOCCSKSARGEN Region in 2023 decreased by 0.09 percent compared to the same period in 2022. Fruit Crops and Vegetables and Root Crops (VRC) decreased by 0.57% and 4.15% or 11,984.0 MT and 6,464.8 MT, respectively. Non-Food and Industrial Commercial Crops (NFICCs) have increased by 0.64 percent or 14,806.7 MT on the same reference period.
