Results of the 2018 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) revealed that about 593,587 families in SOCCSKSARGEN Region had annual incomes between Php100,000-249,999, comprising 52.5% of the total 1.1 million families in the region. They were followed by those in the income classes Php250,000-499,999 with a share of 19.3% and Php60,000-99,999 constituting 15.9%

At US$75,241,979, SOCCSKSARGEN Region’s export income in January 2020 went up by 7.2 percent from US$70,186,823 in January 2018. The total volume of export commodities weighed 65,242,617 kilograms during the month under review from 75,241,979 kilograms recorded in the same month of the previous year. Import expenditures, at US$58,201,311, went down by 16.4 percent from US$69,642,523 in the same month of 2019. Imported goods reached a total of 109,658,967.66 kilograms from 160,039,689.18 kilograms in January 2019.

SOCCSKSARGEN Region’s annual inflation rate for All Items for the Bottom 30% Income Households in February 2020 went up by 2.7% from 2.3% the previous month. Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (25.0%) recorded the highest inflation during the month under review. Other commodity groups that posted higher inflation rates compared to January 2020 include Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels (7.8% to 8.6%); Furnishing, Household Equipment and Routine Maintenance of the House (2.1% to 2.2%); Clothing and Footwear (3.1% to 3.7%), and Recreation and Culture (1.7% to 1.8%). A continued deflation was noted in Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (-1.8% to -1.3%).
