The headline inflation in Sarangani Province dropped to 0.5 percent in November 2024 from 1.2 percent in October 2024. This was lower than both the regional and national levels at 1.7 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively. In November 2023, the inflation rate was higher at 5.4 percent. The provincial average inflation rate for the last eleven (11) months of the year registered at 3.7 percent.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Sultan Kudarat Province officially released the results of the recently conducted compilation of the 2023 Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) of Sultan Kudarat Province through a dissemination forum on December 03, 2024 held at Carlito’s Hotel, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat. This activity was graced by about 70 participants coming from the various government offices and private institutions in the province. Moreover, the presence of the six members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Sultan Kudarat made the event even more significant.

The economy of Sultan Kudarat Province grew by 5.2 percent in 2023, slightly slower than the 5.4 percent growth recorded in 2022. This growth translates to an increase in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the province from PhP 71.51 billion in 2022 to PhP 75.26 billion in 2023. (Figure 1)

Sarangani Province’s economy grew by 3.7 percent in 2023 from its 2022 level, equivalent to an increase of around PhP 1.76 billion to the region’s total Gross Domestic Product (GDP), from PhP 47.95 billion in 2022 to PhP 49.72 billion in 2023.

The economy of City of City of General Santos increased by 2.4 percent in 2023 lower than the 2022 growth of 9.0 percent. This represents an increase in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from PhP 129.03 billion in 2022 to PhP 132.17 billion in 2023. The GDP levels in 2023 exceeded the pre-pandemic levels by PhP 121.48 billion. (Figure 1)

Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa visited Region 12 on Friday, 18 October 2024 to oversee the ongoing data collection of the 2024 Functional Literacy, Education, and Mass Media Survey (FLEMMS) and data processing of 2024 Census of Population - Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS). His visit highlighted the importance of accurate and timely data collection and processing of data in shaping the region’s future.

Koronadal City, South Cotabato – The Philippine Statistics Authority XII conducted the Data Dissemination of October 2024 Inflation Results of SOCCSKSARGEN Region on 14 November 2024 at PSA RSSO XII Office, Koronadal City. It was attended by the representatives of different regional line agencies and other stakeholders.

The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office (PSA RSSO XII) strongly warns the public against online scams spreading in social media sites promising Php 5,000 cash assistance for National ID card holders.

In line with Section 11 of Republic Act No. 11055, otherwise known as Philippine Identification system (PhilSys) Act, all registered persons are required to update the necessary information in case of change in or correction of entry/ies in the information collected and stored under the PhilSys. Pertinent thereto, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has fully implemented the availability of updating services to the general public.

The Digital National ID is the official digital version of the National ID easily accessible through computers or smartphones with an internet connection. Like other formats such as the National ID and printed ePhilID, the Digital National ID is a valid proof of identification and age that can be presented in any government or private transactions. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), launched the Digital National ID, along with authentication platforms, National ID eVerify and National ID Check on 10 June 2024.
