The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) XII will conduct the Regional Press Launch for the 2024 Census of Population-Community-Based Monitoring Systems (POPCEN-CBMS) Field Operations on 15 July 2024, 10:00 AM at Avior Hotel, General Santos City. This activity aims to disseminate to the general public the importance of POPCEN-CBMS in the formulation plans, programs and policies geared towards improving the quality of life of Filipinos.

Headline inflation rate or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket for all income households in SOCCSKSARGEN Region decreased to 3.8% in June 2024 from 3.2% the previous month. This is 0.1 percentage point higher than the 3.7% national headline inflation for the current month under review.

Sarangani
The Philippine Statistics Authority Sarangani Provincial Statistics Office conducted the Municipal Level Training, Coordination and Field Visit to the Local Government Unit of Glan on the Adoption of Philippine Standard Industrial Classification (PSIC) on 19 June 2024 at the Liga ng mga Barangay Office, Poblacion, Glan, Sarangani Province. The activity was attended by the participants from the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) and selected staff from the PSA Sarangani headed by Chief Statistical Specialist Ismael B. Ramos, Jr., together with Supervising Statistical Specialist Marifi P. De Asis.

The inflation or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket for the bottom 30% income households or the low income group in General Santos City decreased to 3.8 percent in June 2024 from last month’s inflation at 5.3 percent. This was lower than the regional and national levels at 4.6 percent and 5.5 percent, respectively. This was also lower by 1.8 percentage points from a year ago of the same month at 5.6 percent. The average inflation or the year-to-date inflation of the city was recorded at 4.4 percent.
South Cotabato
The headline inflation or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket of South Cotabato decreased to 3.2 percent in June 2024. It was lower by 3.3 percentage points from the same month last year at 6.5 percent and 1.3 percentage points lower from May 2024 at 4.5 percent. South Cotabato’s inflation was lower by 0.5 percentage point compared to the national estimates of 3.7 percent, respectively. The province average inflation stood at 5.1 percent (Figure 1).

Philippine Statistics Authority-SARANGANI conducted the quarterly Client Satisfaction Measurement (CSM) for the second quarter (2Q) in the Civil Registry System Outlet located in General Santos City to determine clients’ perceptions regarding their satisfaction with the civil registration services that the office provides like the issuance of copies of civil registry documents and certifications. Results on the satisfaction rating is one of the key performance indicators being reported for the Agency Performance Measures and in compliance with the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA).

This was lower than the regional and national levels at 3.8 percent and 3.7 percent, respectively. This was also lower by 1.3 percentage points from a year ago of the same month at 4.0 percent. The average inflation or the year-to-date inflation of the city was recorded at 3.2 percent.

The headline inflation in Sarangani eased to 4.2 percent in June 2024 from 5.8 percent in May 2024. This is higher than the regional and national levels at 3.8 percent and 3.7 percent, respectively. In June 2023, the inflation rate was higher at 5.6 percent. The provincial average inflation for the first semester of the year registered at 5.0 percent.
