The inflation or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket for the bottom 30% income households or the low-income group in Sarangani Province decelerated to 1.5 percent in October 2024 from last month’s inflation at 2.0 percent. This was lower than the regional and national levels at 3.1 percent and 3.4 percent, respectively. Moreover, the rate was lower by 4.9 percentage points from a year ago of the same month at 6.4 percent. The average inflation or the year-to-date inflation of the province was recorded at 5.0 percent.

This was lower than the regional and national levels at 3.1 percent and 3.4 percent, respectively. Moreover, the rate was lower by 3.2 percentage points from a year ago of the same month at 5.2 percent. The average inflation or the year-to-date inflation of the city was recorded at 4.0 percent.

The headline inflation or the annual rate of change in the prices of goods and services in the market basket in General Santos City eased to 1.2 percent in October 2024 from 2.2 percent in September 2024. This was lower than both the national and regional levels which stood at 2.3 percent. The city’s average inflation from January to October 2024 stood at 3.1 percent. In October 2023, the inflation rate was higher at 4.5 percent.

The headline inflation in Sarangani Province dropped to 1.2 percent in October 2024 from 1.5 percent in September 2024. This was lower than both the regional and national levels at 2.3 percent. In October 2023, the inflation rate was higher at 5.2 percent. The provincial average inflation rate for the last ten (10) months of the year registered at 4.0 percent.

Sultan Kudarat
The headline inflation rate or the year-on-year change in the prices of goods and services commonly purchased by people in the province of Sultan Kudarat increased to 3.2 percent in October 2024 compared to 2.6 percent recorded in September 2024. This brings the provincial average inflation from January to October 2024 at 4.5 percent. In October 2023, the inflation rate was higher at 6.2 percent.

The Philippine Statistics Authority-Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office (PSA-SK) is currently conducting the 2024 Occupational Wages Survey (OWS) and the 2023/2024 Integrated Survey on Labor and Employment (ISLE). This activity aims to provide data users with an integrated data set on key labor and employment indicators. To some extent, the survey results will also be used to assess the progress of decent work in the country.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office conducted an online orientation on the use of PSA e-verification and national ID check applications to the technical staff of the Provincial Cluster Office (PCO) III – Sultan Kudarat, under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XII on 25 October 2024. The session was also participated by municipal links and other field implementers from the eleven (11) municipalities and one (1) city of the province. Registration Officer II Emelyn L. Detablan and ISA I Jarlo D. Granada served as the resource persons.

The Commodity Flow Survey (CFS) is a new survey undertaken by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) that aims to gather quarterly information on the movement of commodities from one province to another via road mode of transport. This survey covers selected establishments engaged in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing, Mining and Quarrying, Manufacturing, and Wholesale Trade Sections in the country. The generated statistics from this survey will enhance the current Domestic Trade Statistics (DTS) which compiles the movement of air and water modes of transport only.

In general, the overall satisfaction rating based on the Service Quality Dimensions (SQD) for this quarter showed a 97.9 percent or ‘outstanding’ rating. As indicated in Table 3, majority of the SQDs in this survey round obtained an ‘outstanding’ rating, only the communication with 76.3 percent obtained a ‘fair’ rating. One hundred percent of the respondents believed that they were served outstandingly with integrity. Reliability, cost and assurance, all of which achieved 99.0 percent of satisfied clients. Most of the respondents also believed that they were served with good outcome and the outlet having good facilities and access with 97.9 percent. Responsiveness scored 95.9 percent, wherein majority believed that the staff have the willingness to help, assist and provide prompt service to the clients.
