Headline inflation rate or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket for all income households in SOCCSKSARGEN Region decreased to 4.5% in May 2024 from 5.0% the previous month. This is 0.6 percentage point higher than the 3.9% national headline inflation for the current month under review.

Headline inflation rate or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket for all income households in SOCCSKSARGEN Region increased to 5.0% in April 2024 from 4.4% the previous month. This is 1.2 percentage point higher than the 3.8% national headline inflation for the current month under review.

The inflation or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket for the bottom 30% income households or the low-income group in Sarangani Province decreased to 6.8 percent in May 2024 from last month’s inflation at 6.9 percent. This was higher than the regional and national levels at 5.0 percent and 5.3 percent, respectively.

The inflation or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket for the bottom 30% income households or the low income group in General Santos City increased to 5.3 percent in May 2024 from last month’s inflation at 4.3 percent. This was higher than the regional level at 5.0 percent and equal to national level at 5.3 percent.

The headline inflation in Sarangani accelerated to 5.8 percent in May 2024 from 5.6 percent in April 2024. This is higher than the regional and national levels at 4.5 percent and 3.9 percent, respectively. In May 2023, the inflation rate was higher at 6.0 percent. The provincial average inflation from January to May 2024 averaged at 5.1 percent.

The headline inflation or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket in General Santos City increased to 4.3 percent in May 2024 from last month’s inflation at 3.1 percent. This was lower than the regional level at 4.5 percent and higher than the national level at 3.9 percent. This was also higher by 0.5 percentage points from a year ago of the same month at 3.8 percent. The average inflation or the year-to-date inflation of the city was recorded at 3.3 percent.

The headline inflation or the annual rate of change on the prices of goods and services in the market basket of South Cotabato decreased to 4.5 percent in May 2024 from 6.3 percent in April 2024.

The inflation rate of South Cotabato’s bottom 30% income households increased to 7.8 percent in April 2024 from 6.9 percent in March 2024.
