Sultan Kudarat’s inflation rate decelerated at 3.9 percent in July 2019 from 4.9 in June 2019. This is about 0.5 percentage point lower than the rate posted in July last year at 4.4 percent. Purchasing power of peso in the province remained the same at Php0.80.

The annual headline inflation rate or the year-on-year change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Sultan Kudarat Province accelerated at 2.1 percent in October 2019 from 2.0 percent in September 2019. This is about 5.0 percentage points lower than the rate posted in October last year at 7.1 percent. Purchasing power of peso in the province declined at Php 0.79.

Sultan Kudarat Province had a total registered deaths of 3,237 in 2017 or 6.55 percent lower than in 2016. Among the city/municipalities, the City of Tacurong had the highest registered deaths with 649 which constituted 20.05 percent of the total registered deaths in the province in 2017. It was followed by the municipalities of Isulan with registered deaths of 563 (17.39%) and Lambayong with 361 (11.15%). The municipality of Lutayan had the least registered deaths with 79 or 2.44 percent of the total registered deaths in the province in 2017. (Table 1)

2018 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has generated report on the SOCCSKSARGEN Region’s official poverty statistics for the year 2018. This report provides the estimates of poverty incidence using income data from this survey - these are statistics that can best describe the family income and food security level in province.
